Hanky Panky Cocktail

This gin cocktail was first created in the 1920s by Ada Coleman, head bartender of The Savoy Hotel’s American Bar in London, and named after actor Sir Charles Hawtrey (but not the one 
of Carry On film fame).

Ingredients

Makes 1 cocktail

1½ oz. (45ml) gin
1½ oz. (45ml) sweet vermouth
2 dashes Fernet-Branca
Strip of orange peel, to serve
  1. Stir gin, sweet vermouth, and Fernet-Branca with ice until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist a swathe of orange peel over the surface of the drink and add to glass as garnish.
